Occupation - wir kommen!!!

Right, the front room and the bedroom are ready for us (as ready as they can be).

Someone was saying the videos are hectic - sorry about that - I am just so excited.

The curtains are too long, hence the knot. But my sewing machine is raring to go, once we move everything and I finally have space.

Note the Jaycee Welsh dresser we bought yesterday. A bargain at £55 and already full of useful stuff. (Not sure whether this company still exists, the latest 'news' on their website is from 2003.)*

Ah, and we erected the fireplace after cutting notches into the hearth tiles for the fireplace surround, then enlarged those holes with a drill, to hopefully safely hold the whole thing upright. It is bl**dy heavy. Thanks to Peter for the idea with the tile drill bit!

You might also have spotted the tv cable, ready and waiting to hopefully send the Germany games to our television. Er, sorry England! :-(

We should have tv and telephone from Thursday onwards.

*Ed. - It appears that Jaycee went out of business in 2001. Founded in Brighton by Jewish businessman Jack Cohen after World War Two, it seems to have been a good place to work, employing craftsmen with a degree of skill (rather than just 'assemblers').
